You may be familiar with the term “hospice care,” but perhaps you’re a little unclear on what hospice is all about.
Hospice is a specialized brand of care that is centered around the belief that a life limiting illness is not only a physical condition, but a spiritual and emotional one as well. The aim of Spring Valley Hospice is to bring hope, comfort and support to both the patient and their family to live life to its fullest.
The hospice approach to care is a team-based one, and focuses on the patient and their family as they walk through this season. Our family of staff includes a medical director, nurses, social workers, chaplains, certified nurse assistants, therapists, and a terrific group of volunteers–all of whom work with patients and families to support their individual needs.
Contrary to popular belief, hospice care is not only for cancer patients, it is for anyone suffering from a life limiting illness. This could include Alzheimers, COPD, CHF, Stroke, Renal Failure, AIDS and many other diagnosis. We are here to consult with your physician to identify the best path of care needed for your loved one.
